What Is Viagra Spam Email
I have set up every possible rule I can imagine to eliminate the multiple Viagra/**** spam emails I receive every day, yet they still come through without fail. They are in my junk, but I need to go through my junk everyday to search for emails that are not junk and I’m amazed at how many of these spam emails I’m receiving, given the rules I’ve created attempting to limit them.
I have set up other rules for what I consider to be obscene spam emails, and those rules seem to work fine. I don’t understand why so many of these Viagra/**** emails get through daily.
Ideally, I want anything and everything referring to Viagra and/or **** in any part of the email sections to be immediately deleted.
It seems as though the “keywords” feature should work for that, but it has not worked for me. The senders are always different, so that feature doesn’t work either for this problem.
Can someone help me?

I understand the frustration when things don’t work as expected.
Which browser do you use to access Hotmail.com?
Since you have tried all sorts of rules and still the spam emails creep into the system, then I would request you to perform a scan with Microsoft Safety Scanner.
Run the Microsoft Safety Scanner in full scan mode, and remove all the threats that get detected by it and see if the issue persists.
Note : The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for using an antivirus software program that provides ongoing protection.
Please take a backup of all the data to an external hard disk before performing a scan as it could result in data loss.
If you need any further assistance, please post your query on Microsoft Community Forums and we’ll be glad to assist you with it.

The rules are just broken and don’t work. I get 10 messages with Viagra in the subject every day in my junk mail folder:
FIX IT MICROSOFT!

Dearest Jessen P,
Just out of curiosity, how is scanning any computer with a ‘Safety Scanner’ going to help? This is web-browser based email. The spam shows up no matter what computer I read the mail on. It shows up on my phone.
Are you suggesting that there is some virus on some computer somewhere that is sending this mail to me and that scanning some computer will catch it? Even if that was the case, YOUR RULES SHOULD CATCH IT AND DELETE IT!

Microsoft doesn’t bother to respond to this anymore; their rules have been broken for years and they can’t be bothered to fix it apparently.
The frustration of the daily spam mail I should never be seeing combined with the constantly-broken-with-each-new-update garbage that is Outlook for Android makes me consider gmail more strongly every day.

I agree the rules filters don’t work. I have tried uppercase, lowercase, and mixed. But the wildcards don’t work so it is all useless. ViagraMaster9000 as a subject will not match any filters because of this. Amazing it has been like this for years and Microsoft offers ridiculous replies to scan our computers for viruses.
How about you fix the hotmail rules so they work and allow wildcards. It is so easy to test.
