Viagra Pill Online
Yes you can although it is generally not advised to take Viagra at the same time as drinking alcohol. Alcohol interacts with majority of medicines, causing a detrimental effect especially if consumed in excessive amount. Generally, alcohol can thin the blood and can also induce the breakdown of medicines much quicker, which causes less drug being absorbed and hence, the drug not working its full effect.
Normally, when alcohol is consumed, it stops the natural erection process. Therefore, when taking Viagra and drinking alcohol, the same concept applies leading to erectile dysfunction. This is more likely to happen if alcohol is consumed in large amounts.
Viagra (Generic)
Generic Viagra (sildenafil) is prescribed to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), the inability to get or maintain an erection, as a result of impotence. ED is common in men, characterized by complete or intermittent inability to get and maintain an erection for sexual activity. Viagra is not for use by women or children.
Generic Viagra requires a prescription. You can get a prescription for generic Viagra (sildenafil) at Blink Health, including online doctor visit and refills. All generic medications sold through Blink Health Pharmacy are FDA-approved.
Viagra is a phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation to help achieve erection. Viagra does not cure ED, increase sexual desire, prevent pregnancy, or protect against sexually transmitted diseases (including HIV).
Viagra is most effective if taken 1 hour before sexual activity, but can be taken up to 4 hours prior. Do not take more than one dose every 24 hours. People with certain health conditions may need to limit Viagra doses; discuss with your doctor how often to take it.
Viagra and sildenafil are medically the same, containing the same active ingredient sildenafil. The main difference is price where generic sildenafil is cheaper than branded Viagra (sold by Pfizer). Also, sildenafil is available in 20mg dosage. Viagra comes in diamond shaped blue pills and sildenafil comes in white or blue tablets. Both are equally effective for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Common side effects of Viagra

How to use
Before taking generic Viagra (sildenafil), be sure you fully understand your licensed medical professional’s instructions for using it. In addition, when you receive your generic Viagra, read the Patient Information Leaflet that comes with it. A licensed medical professional can answer any questions you have after reading this leaflet.
To treat erectile dysfunction (ED), take generic Viagra orally as directed by your licensed medical professional, usually on an as-needed basis. You should take generic Viagra at least 30 minutes, but no more than 4 hours, before sexual activity (1 hour before is the most effective). Do not take it more than once daily.
Keep in mind: Consuming a high-fat meal can delay how quickly the medication begins to work.
The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other medications you may be taking. Be sure to tell your clinician or pharmacist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
If your condition does not improve after using generic Viagra, talk to a licensed medical professional.
Side effects
It’s important to be aware of possible side effects before you start taking a medication.
Here are the listed side effects for this drug:
Dizziness, headache, flushing, or stomach upset may occur. Vision changes such as increased sensitivity to light, blurred vision, or trouble telling blue and green colors apart may also occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
To reduce the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.
Sexual activity may put extra strain on your heart, especially if you have heart problems. If you have heart problems and experience any of these serious side effects while having sex, stop and get medical help right away: severe dizziness, fainting, chest/jaw/left arm pain, nausea.
Rarely, sudden decreased vision, including permanent blindness, in one or both eyes (NAION) may occur. If this serious problem occurs, stop taking sildenafil and get medical help right away. You have a slightly greater chance of developing NAION if you have heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, certain other eye problems (‘crowded disk’), high blood pressure, if you are over 50, or if you smoke.
Rarely, a sudden decrease or loss of hearing, sometimes with ringing in the ears and dizziness, may occur. Stop taking sildenafil and get medical help right away if these effects occur.
In the rare event you have a painful or prolonged erection lasting 4 or more hours, stop using this drug and get medical help right away, or permanent problems could occur.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
In the US – Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088 or at www.fda.gov/medwatch.
In Canada – Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to Health Canada at 1-866-234-2345.
Warnings & Precautions
It’s also important to be aware of precautions and warnings around taking this medication.
Before taking sildenafil, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: heart problems (such as heart attack or life-threatening irregular heartbeat in the past 6 months, chest pain/angina, heart failure), stroke in the past 6 months, kidney disease, liver disease, high or low blood pressure, a severe loss of body water (dehydration), penis conditions (such as angulation, fibrosis/scarring, Peyronie’s disease), history of painful/prolonged erection (priapism), conditions that may increase the risk of priapism (such as sickle cell anemia, leukemia, multiple myeloma), eye problems (such as retinitis pigmentosa, sudden decreased vision, NAION).
This drug may make you dizzy or cause vision problems. Alcohol or marijuana (cannabis) can make you more dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness or clear vision until you can do it safely. Limit alcoholic beverages. Talk to your doctor if you are using marijuana (cannabis).
Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
During pregnancy, sildenafil should be used only when clearly needed. Since high blood pressure in the lungs is a serious condition that can harm both a pregnant woman and her unborn baby, do not stop this medication unless directed by your doctor. If you are planning pregnancy, become pregnant, or think you may be pregnant, talk to your doctor about the benefits and risks of using sildenafil.
This medication passes into breast milk in small amounts. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Storage
Store generic Viagra at room temperature away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep generic Viagra (and all medications) away from children and pets.
If your generic Viagra has expired or is no longer needed, be sure to discard it correctly. You can ask your pharmacist or local waste disposal company how you should dispose of your generic Viagra. Do not flush it down the toilet or pour it into a drain unless instructed to do so.
Drug interactions
If you take other prescription or nonprescription drugs (including herbal supplements), interactions may take place that change how your medications work or that increase your risk for serious side effects. These are not all of the possible drug interactions. Keep a list of all the products you use (including prescription/nonprescription drugs and herbal products) and share it with your clinician and pharmacist. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your licensed medical professional’s approval.
A product that may interact with this drug is: riociguat.
When used with nitrates, sildenafil can cause a serious drop in your blood pressure. This can lead to dizziness, fainting, and, rarely, heart attack or stroke. Do not use sildenafil with any of the following: certain drugs used to treat chest pain/angina (nitrates such as nitroglycerin, isosorbide), recreational drugs called ‘poppers’ containing amyl nitrate, amyl nitrite, or butyl nitrite.
If you are taking an alpha blocker medication (such as doxazosin, tamsulosin) to treat an enlarged prostate/BPH or high blood pressure, at the same time you’re taking generic Viagra, your blood pressure may get too low which can lead to dizziness or fainting. Your doctor may start treatment with a lower dose of sildenafil to minimize your risk of low blood pressure.
Other medications can affect the removal of generic Viagra from your body, which can affect how it works. Examples of these medications include azole antifungals (such as itraconazole, ketoconazole), macrolide antibiotics (such as clarithromycin, erythromycin), HIV protease inhibitors (such as ritonavir, saquinavir), hepatitis C virus protease inhibitors (such as boceprevir, telaprevir), mifepristone, rifampin, among others.
Do not take this drug with any other product that contains sildenafil or other similar medications that treat erectile dysfunction (ED) or pulmonary hypertension (such as tadalafil or vardenafil).
Overdose
Symptoms of generic Viagra overdose may include severe dizziness, fainting, painful/prolonged erection.
If someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing, call 911. Otherwise, call a poison control center right away. US residents can call their local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Canada residents can call a provincial poison control center.

Can I get Viagra over the counter?
As Viagra is a prescription-only medication, you can’t get Viagra over the counter. However, there is a different type of Viagra, called Viagra Connect, that you can get over the counter without a prescription. Read more to find out how to get Viagra over the counter.
What is Viagra?
Viagra is a prescription-only medication that is used to treat erectile dysfunction, and works for around 74% of men who try it. It works by increasing the blood flow to your penis, which makes it easier for you to get and keep an erection. It usually takes 30 to 60 minutes for Viagra to start working after you take it, and the effects last for up to 4 hours.
Why do I need to get a prescription?
Viagra is a prescription-only medication, which means that a doctor has to assess you to make sure it’s safe to take it. This is because it may react with certain medications, or may not be suitable if you have certain conditions. There is a type of Viagra called Viagra Connect which is available without a prescription from a doctor, but you will still need to go through an assessment with a pharmacist before you can get it.
What causes erectile dysfunction?
There are many different factors that can cause erectile dysfunction, from psychological factors such as stress or anxiety, to physical problems with your circulation or nervous system. Often, there are several factors causing erectile dysfunction, not just a single cause. For more information, read our doctors’ advice on the causes of erectile dysfunction.
Viagra Dosages
Viagra comes in 3 different dosages, 50mg, 25mg, and 100mg. The higher the dosage the more of an effect it will have, but a higher dosage may also increase the chance of side effects. You may want to try different dosages to find which one works best for you.
Viagra 50mg
Viagra 50mg is the standard starting dose for most people, and is what we recommend if you’ve never tried Viagra before. 50mg is the most popular dosage of Viagra, and is effective for most men who try it.
Viagra 25mg
Viagra 25mg is the lowest dose of Viagra available. It is slightly less effective than Viagra 50mg, but it is also less likely to cause side effects. 25mg might be the best dosage for you if you tried 50mg and it worked for you, but you got side effects that you’d like to avoid. This dosage may also be offered if you are taking other medications to reduce the chance that the medications interact.
Viagra 100mg
Viagra 100mg is the highest dose of Viagra available. It is more effective than lower dosages of Viagra, but is also more likely to cause side effects. 100mg might be the best dosage for you if you tried 50mg and it didn’t work for you, and you didn’t get any side effects.
Read on for more information on the different dosages of Viagra, and which one is right for you.
How does Viagra work?
Viagra is a type of medication known as a PDE-5 inhibitor, which works by improving the blood flow to your penis when you are aroused. This makes it easier for you to get and keep an erection that’s hard enough to have sex with.
It only works if you’re turned on and will not make you get an erection by itself. It also doesn’t improve low sex drive.
How long does Viagra take to work?
Viagra takes about 30 to 60 mins to start working, so it’s recommended you take it 1 hour before you want to have sex. However, the length of time it takes Viagra to work can be affected by factors such as how aroused you are, what food you’ve eaten, and if you’ve drank alcohol.
- Arousal – Viagra only works if you are aroused, it won’t give you an erection on it’s own. If you are unable to get an erection after taking Viagra, it may be the case that you aren’t sexually stimulated enough to get one.
- Food – Certain foods, especially heavy or greasy meals, can make it harder for Viagra to be absorbed into your bloodstream. This makes it take longer to start working, and can even make it less effective.
- Alcohol – Alcohol interacts with Viagra, making it take longer to start working and making it less effective. Drinking too much can also make it harder to get an erection anyway, which makes Viagra less likely to work when you need it to.
How long does Viagra last?
Viagra lasts for around 4 to 6 hours after you take it, so you shouldn’t take it early in the day if you’re planning to have sex in the evening. Your age, diet, and health can all impact how long Viagra lasts.
Does Viagra make you last longer in bed?
Viagra can help you to get and maintain an erection, so you can stay harder for longer if you find it difficult to keep an erection. However, Viagra does not delay ejaculation so it will not make you last longer if you feel you are orgasming too quickly. If you are orgasming too quickly, then you may want to try premature ejaculation treatment, which can help you last longer. For more information, you can read our doctors’ advice on how to last longer, and if Viagra can help.
Does Viagra make erections bigger?
Viagra can only make your erection bigger if you are having trouble getting fully erect. Viagra doesn’t increase your maximum erection size. There is no medication that makes your maximum erection size bigger. Only surgery can increase the overall size of the penis.
What is it like before and after Viagra?
Before taking Viagra, you may have trouble maintaining an erection during sex, which may result in issues to do with your sex life. Once prescribed, take Viagra up to 4 hours before you want to have sex. For most people, it takes 30 to 60 minutes for Viagra to work, and it can continue to work for around 4 hours. This causes the blood vessels to relax, allowing blood to more easily flow to the penis, which should help you to get and keep an erection more easily. For more information, read our page on what to expect before and after starting Viagra.
What if Viagra doesn’t work?
Viagra is effective for most men, but not all of them. If you are taking 25mg or 50mg of Viagra, and it has not worked on several separate occasions, then you may want to try a higher dose, if approved by your doctor. If you try Viagra 100mg and it does not work for you, then Viagra may not be right for you and you could try another erectile dysfunction medication.
How to take Viagra
To take Viagra, swallow one tablet whole with water or juice around an hour before you want to have sex. You should only take one tablet every 24 hours.
For the best results, you should take Viagra on an empty stomach. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t eat for the entire day, but you should leave two hours between your last meal and taking Viagra.
You should avoid heavy or greasy meals before taking Viagra, as it makes it take longer to start working. You should also avoid drinking alcohol, as it can make Viagra less effective by making it harder for you to get an erection.
You should also avoid grapefruit juice, which changes how your body breaks down medicines such as Viagra, which makes it take longer to start working.
If you’re nervous about taking Viagra for the first time, you could try taking it on your own to see how it works. This can help you get comfortable with how it feels, and build confidence that it will work for you when you need it.
When to take Viagra
You should take Viagra at least an hour before you plan to have sex. This gives the medication time to start working, so you’re ready to have sex when you want to. Viagra lasts for up to four hours after taking it, so you’ll still be able to get and keep an erection even if you take it earlier than an hour before.
How often can you take Viagra?
You can take one Viagra tablet every 24 hours. Taking any more than this is unsafe, which could cause side effects or serious health complications, including permanent damage to your penis. You should also not change your dosage of Viagra, so you should not take two 25mg tablets to have a 50mg dose unless advised to do so by a doctor, as this may be unsafe if your doctor has prescribed you a lower dosage.
If you take Viagra and do not feel that it is working, you should not take another tablet. It may just be taking a little longer to start working, and even if the medication is not effective it is still inside your body, so taking more could cause complications.
Is it safe to take Viagra for a long time?
Yes, it is safe to take Viagra for as long as you need it. Studies of long-term Viagra use have shown that it doesn’t cause health problems, and that it stays effective in helping men to get and keep an erection.
Can You Take Viagra With Alcohol?
Drinking alcohol may reduce your ability to get an erection, making Viagra less effective, and can also make the side effects of Viagra worse. While alcohol is often used by some people to overcome nerves and sexual anxiety, drinking can actually make it harder to get an erection – and can make Viagra less effective. Alcohol can also worsen the side effects of Viagra, even when drinking in moderation. Read what our doctors have to say about the risks of taking Viagra with alcohol.
Does Viagra expire?
Viagra, like most medications, has a shelf life and can become less effective if it’s left unused for too long. You should check the expiry date on your own packet, and should be stored below 30°C and out of direct sunlight.
You should aim to use your medication by the expiration date printed on the box of your medication. If your Viagra is past the expiration date, you should take it to a pharmacy for them to dispose of, and get a new box of Viagra as it may not be safe to take it.
Viagra alternatives
There are several alternative treatments you can take if you have erectile dysfunction. If you’re not sure if Viagra is right for you, there are other erectile dysfunction tablets to choose from, such as Sildenafil, Tadalafil, Vardenafil and Avanafil. You’ll still need a prescription to get these medications.

Sildenafil is the generic (unbranded) version of Viagra, which means that it works in the exact same way. It is available in 25mg, 50mg, and 100mg – the same as Viagra. Sildenafil can be made by any pharmaceutical company which means that it is usually available at a lower cost. With Sildenafil, you are getting the same medication but not paying for the brand name.
Viagra Connect is a type of Viagra that works in the exact same way, but it’s only available in a 50mg dose. You don’t need a prescription to get Viagra Connect, so you can get it over the counter in most UK pharmacies after a consultation with the pharmacist. Pharmacists will use the same assessment that we use online to check if it is right for you.
Cialis is an erectile dysfunction treatment that starts working faster than Viagra, and the effects can also last a lot longer – up to 36 hours. Cialis is also available in a daily dosage, called Cialis Daily, which is suitable for people who have frequent or spontaneous sex. The generic version of Cialis is Tadalafil.
Levitra is another erectile dysfunction treatment which works in a similar way to Viagra. Both take up to an hour to start working, and last for up to 6 hours. Levitra may be a better option if you have diabetes, as studies have shown it’s more effective for men with diabetes than Viagra. The generic version of Levitra is Vardenafil.
Spedra is the fastest working erectile dysfunction tablet, helping you get an erection in 15 to 30 minutes. Spedra is less effective than Viagra, but is a good alternative if you have spontaenous sex. There is no generic version of Spedra available in the UK.
For more helpful information on what other options are available to treat erectile dysfunction, read our doctors recommendations on Viagra alternatives.
Can I take Viagra with other erectile dysfunction medications?
No, you should never combine Viagra with another ED medication. ED medications such as Viagra, Levita, and Cialis all work in the same way, so taking them together could cause serious side effects, or even cause an overdose.
Does herbal Viagra work?
Herbal Viagra is a name given to a number of products, such as Horny Goat Weed, that are sold as an alternative to Viagra. However, no herbal treatments are currently recommended or licensed to treat erectile dysfunction, and these products can actually cause more harm than good. Mixing Viagra with herbal supplements may also have unintended interactions which could cause side effects, so let your doctor know if you are taking any herbal supplements before taking Viagra. Read our doctors’ advice on whether you should try “natural alternatives” like herbal Viagra.

Will Viagra affect my fertility?
There’s no strong evidence to suggest that taking Viagra will prevent you from having a baby in the future. In fact, Viagra is more likely to help you if you are trying for a child, as it enables you to get and keep an erection hard enough for sex.
Viagra safety information
Drug interactions
Viagra can interact with certain medications and make them less effective, or cause unintended and potentially dangerous side effects. It is important to tell your doctor about any other medication you are taking before you take it.
Some medications that are known to interact with Viagra are:
Pre-existing conditions
If you are male and aged 18 and over, Viagra could be an effective treatment for ED. Viagra is not suitable for you if you have any of the following pre-existing conditions:
- An allergy to Viagra or Sildenafil
- Low blood pressure
- Heart or liver condition
- Recently had a stroke or heart attack
- A rare inherited eye disease
Viagra and Blood Pressure
Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, is sometimes used as a treatment for pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs). This is because sildenafil lowers blood pressure by widening the blood vessels, which is also how it works to treat erectile dysfunction. If you have low blood pressure, or are taking medications to lower your blood pressure, you should speak with a doctor before taking Viagra.
When should I not take Viagra?
Even if you don’t have a pre-existing condition, there are other situations where you shouldn’t take Viagra. You shouldn’t take Viagra if you:
- Are taking other ED medications
- Have sickle cell anaemia
- Have a deformity of your penis
- Are taking nitrates for chest pain
- Have certain eye conditions, such as non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION)
Can women take Viagra?
No, women can’t take Viagra. It is only licensed for male use in the UK, but in places such as the USA there is “female Viagra” available. In actual fact the term “female Viagra” is misleading, as that other drug works in a completely different way, and is used more to increase sexual desire and satisfaction in women. For more information on how Viagra affects women, read our doctors advice about what happens when women take Viagra.

What is Viagra?
ViagraTM is a PDE-5 inhibitor approved by the FDA to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It’s the brand name of the specific drug made by Pfizer, who’s active chemical in the medicine is sildenafil citrate. Viagra was initially created in 1989 by Pfizer and used to treat high blood pressure. Though not found to be helpful for the treatment of high blood pressure, this medication became available in the US as an ED treatment in 1998 and has been commonly prescribed ever since. In 2017, generic sildenafil became available at a much lower cost than the brand-name medication. Lemonaid’s medical team prescribes both generic sildenafil & Viagra, so whatever you need when it comes to meds, we’ve got you covered.
How does Viagra work?
Viagra (sildenafil) works by increasing blood flow to your penis. It’s a reliable treatment for men who cannot achieve an erection, as well as those unable to maintain an erection. If you’re experiencing erectile dysfunction, this might be the right ED med for you. So what exactly does Viagra do? This medication works by improving blood flow to your penis when you’re sexually aroused. The active chemical in Viagra, sildenafil citrate, is still used under the name Revatio to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension or elevated blood pressure in the arteries that carry blood from your heart to your lungs. Viagra is a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor (also called a PDE-5 inhibitor), which means it promotes blood flow to your penis by blocking the effects of the PDE enzyme. Most men who experience sexual arousal after taking this med can achieve and maintain an erection hard enough for sex. Don’t worry—you won’t get a spontaneous erection just from taking a pill. You have to be sexually aroused after taking these meds to get an erection. And you can take Viagra up to 4 hours before sexual activity. Viagra is the most popular branded medication on the market to treat erectile dysfunction and has helped many men with ED. Need help figuring out which is the right ED med for you? Your doctor will determine your starting dose based on your personal medical history. This medication isn’t suitable for everyone and shouldn’t be taken if you’re also on a nitrate drug for heart problems or have had a heart attack. If you’re experiencing ED as well as a heart condition, please consult with a medical professional before taking Viagra. Wondering when to take Viagra? Take it an hour or so before you plan to have sex since this med may take between 30 minutes and an hour to work. What is Viagra (Sildenafil Citrate)?
Viagra is the most well-known member of a class of medications called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5) inhibitors. The PDE5 inhibitors, including Viagra, help men to get or maintain a suitably hard penile erection. For those who do experience side effects, the most common are headache, flushing, indigestion, nasal congestion, nausea, dizziness, and visual disturbances. They generally only last a few hours. Viagra should not be taken with any other PD5 inhibitors. It should not be combined with nitrates used in cardiovascular disease, alpha-blockers (for high blood pressure) or any recreational drugs. Caution is advised in the use of Viagra in people with diabetes, anatomical deformation of the penis (such as Peyronie’s disease) or a predisposition to painful erections e.g. in sickle cell disease or leukemia.
