Mask Makers
We turned the dining room into an extension of the sewing/work room. With help from some of the neighbors, we are making masks for folks who do not have access to Personal Protection. Stay safe!
New mask design. Love the adjustable straps!
Junk Journal
Here at Material Threads we try to reuse and re purpose as much of our unused household and crafting “stuff” as possible. We have made tee shirt quilts, dress shirt totes, button pins and button ornaments. Years of sewing and craft making, along with quarantine cleaning have provided us with a wealth of mixed media art supplies allowing us to offer Junk Journals.
For those of you who are wondering what junk journaling is, it is a combination of mixed media art and journaling.
A Junk journal is a handmade book, made up of recycled and repurposed items such as magazine pages, brochures, patterned paper, music sheets, envelopes, packaging, brown paper bags, maps, doilies, greeting or post cards to name a bunch. Our book covers are a combination of old file folders covered with fabric. We hold the pages in with large elastic, giving the flexibility to easily add or remove pages.
Our books are ready for you to keep as an Everyday diary or Planner but with more graphics, memorabilia and keepsake items. You can turn them into a Theme or Memory book for your thoughts, inspirations, and memories of an occasion or an event that has touched you. It is a great place to put those ideas that pop into your head for later use. The list is endless, especially when your creative juices spark your imagination.
And they are a fantastic unique Gift idea!
We have used one to track the journey of our adventures here at Material Threads.
They will be available for sale at the next Craft Fair.

Pleated Clutch Purse
Pleated clutch purse measures 8×10. They are not reversible. Inside Velcro closure and a wrist strap, for more secure carrying.
Rope Tote
Do you need a handy little bag, that is perfect for summer? Our rope tote is ideal for a day at the beach or a night on the town. When it comes to beach wardrobe staples, our bag’s functionality and durability is equally important as it’s style. And of course it is reversible.
Re-purpose / Reuse
We are cleaning out our closets and discovering a treasure trove of reusable items. Ann and the girls have been re-purposing old tee shirts into stadium size quilts.
We also found a bunch of dress shirts. And this is what we did with those!
