One of Venezuela’s greatest musical export “Los amigos invisibles” are back at it again with a brand new video for the song “Corazón Tetú” doing what they do best “cachondo” if it was to be translated into English it would be something like sex appeal, if you speak Spanish, well you can definitely understand the very horny lyrics, yes you read that right! Horny, and this is why we like them, and of course in this song we’ll find the formula that made them famous, a mix of funky disco beats and of course mucho Cachondeo.

Babasonicos, Rock en Español.
This is not a new band, they don’t have a new album, the above video it’s not new, but if you haven’t done so, you need to discover this band, please meet Babasonicos! One of the remaining greatest bands of Rock en Español, with a career spanning over two decades, they have done the opening acts to INXS, Soul Asylum and Depeche Mode, Babasonicos also composed the soundtrack for Vera Fogwill’s movie Las Mantenidas Sin Sueños (Kept and Dreamless), which was released in 2007, they are the protagonists of a documentary movie about Jessico, an album that marked their careers and the history of the Argentinian record industry, once one of the strongest and most important exporters of music in Latin America, which with the political and economic crisis was about to vanish completely “Una Historia de Rock En Tiempos Convulsos” transports us to Argentina back in 2001 thru the eyes and music of Babasonicos and their ordeal to launch the album in spite of the chaos going on in the streets, after this events Jessico became a landmark, if this is not enough to appreciate their contribution to Rock en Español what truly catches my eye (literally) is their question of aesthetic standards, this questioning makes their videos unique, at the beginning directing the videos themselves and now enlisting the help of professionals they have manage to carve an style of their own; deliciously kitsch!

What do you get if you mix a hint of disco a dash of funk a touch of acid rock a few drops of Philadelphia sounds or sweet Philly as some would like to call it and of course like the cherry on top a good shot of Latin rhythms? Well you get Los Amigos invicibles!
In the early nineties six guys; Julio Briceño (a.k.a. “Chulius”, vocals, percussion), José Luis Pardo (a.k.a. “Cheo” or “DJ Afro”, guitar, songwriting), Armando Figueredo (a.k.a. “Odnam”, keyboards), Mauricio Arcas (a.k.a. “Maurimix”, congas, percussion), José Rafael Torres (a.k.a. “Catire”, bass), and Juan Manuel Roura (a.k.a. “Mamel”, drums, percussion) decided to get together to create a new sound, a sound missing from the Venezuelan musical landscape ( the band was formed in Caracas, Venezuela) well their plan worked, they were very successful in their crusade to offer “Gozadera” party music, fun music, an alternative the traditional Latin rhythms like salsa and merengue, and a contrast to Punk sounds ( pretty popular in Venezuela in the 90’s).
Now even though the band members are scattered around Mexico, Miami and New York, a few Grammys later, sold out shows throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the band is back at it again, with a new album “Repeat after me” taking us back in time with a Latin floured Afro-jazz tropical disco, Yeap, your hips will not resist their catchy beats, yes the guys never stop touring and they are back electrifying audiences with their explosive live shows.

Recette Gumbo aux crevettes à la PFB.
GUMBO AUX CREVETTES À LA PFB.
Voici une recette inspirée d’un classique culinaire de mon père.
Le gumbo à été introduit en Amérique par les esclaves venus d’Afrique.
Le gumbo évoque maintenant le confort du ragout mais a pendant plus d’une paire de siècles été la pitence de l’esclave.
Aujourd’hui ce met épicé est servi dans bon nombre de pays d’Afrique de l’ouest et est devenu un des mets traditionels de la Louisianne.
De façon générale le gumbo au poulet est directement lié à l’héritage des plantations des État Unis alors que le gumbo aux fruits de mer assure la modernité .
A noté que le voyage du gumbo est long puisqu’on peut le déguster autour du bol méditerranéen, au Brésil en Inde et en Afrique du Nord.
Simple ,peu couteux hyper rassembleur le gumbo marquera vos convives.
3 tassses de gumbo.
2 tasses de crevettes.
1 cuillerée à thé de poudre à pate.
Une petite conserve de pâte de tomate.
11/2cube de boullion de légumes.
10 tomates cerices.
2 tasses de farine de maïs.
