TWG is seeking two full time, permanent intermediate to senior Web/Mobile Software and Application Developers that demonstrate strong development skills to join our passionate team.
Our developers work closely alongside designers and product managers in an integrated team, taking ownership of entire products from conception through to fruition. Our ideal candidate is driven, creative, fun-loving and able to deliver high-quality work within the fast-paced environment at our Toronto, Ontario-based head office.
As a TWG Web/Mobile Software and Application Developer, you will:
Design, program, and deliver web and mobile applications using a variety of programming languages and development platforms.
Work closely with our Business Development, Product and Project Managers and User Experience Designers to establish a detailed program specification through discussion with clients/users and break it down into its simplest elements and translate the logic into a program language.
Identify, communicate and propose solutions to complex web development challenges/risks effectively.
Troubleshoot and support existing applications/systems.
Keep current with programming languages and platforms within the web and mobile development and application space.
Integrate applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information server.
Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
Assist in developing documentations such as user manual, presentations to technical staff/clients.
Act as a go-to-person within technical area of expertise.

Essential background and skills:
A university degree in computer science, computer programming, information systems or similar.
A minimum of 3 years relevant web/mobile development experience, experience with Ruby on Rails, Java, mySQL, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, a bonus.
Experience developing mobile applications for iOS and Android.
Knowledgeable in issue tracking and version control systems, experienced with Git.
Ability to design and implement complex data architecture.
Strong organizational skills with ability to coordinate activities.
Strategic and analytical thinking skills with an excellent problem solving capacity.
Effective decision making in developing process and systems that are consistent with business objectives.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written); highly skilled in communicating in a clear, concise and precise manner.
Experience leading small teams and projects a bonus.
