Amazon customers horrified after spotting Chinese fancy dress costume being advertised by children making ‘slant eyes’ pose

The online shopping giant has been slammed by customers accusing them of ‘casual racism’ after putting the third-party sellers’ ad on their site

AMAZON has come under fire for selling a Chinese fancy dress costume advertised with pictures of children making "slant eye" gestures.

The shocking images were being flogged by third-party sellers on the site for between £21.86 and £22.02.

Horrified customers spotted the ads, which show children using their fingers to pull their eyes and make them "slanted", and flooded the shopping giant with complaints.

Amazon has since taken down the costumes, which were being sold by Atosa and Fyasa.

Lily Ladlow wrote on Facebook: "I was very hurt to see the pictures.

“It clearly insinuated the 'slitty eyes' racial insult that we Chinese often get. I was appalled that Amazon would happily use a photo that was racially abusive to help sell a product.”

Tak Yeung posted: "Amazon I am so shocked. My friend sent me this photo from your website. I know it's from a third party company but how can you support such racism.

"Totally unacceptable and offensive especially to the Chinese."
