(Shawn and Gus are trying to work with retired cops.) Shawn: We don’t care what Herb was up to. Put our differences aside and work together on this, okay? Between the four of us, we’ve got what, over 300 years of crime fighting under our belts?

Shawn: I’m having a clear vision on a cloudy day.

Shawn: We should avoid Herb and Peters until we have something juicy. Gus: And then we throw our something juicy in their faces. Shawn: Yeah. Like rotten peaches.

Peters: Stay in the background, we’ll try not to embarrass you this time. Shawn: I can embarrass myself just fine on my own.

Plot Hole: It is never explained how Lassiter and Jules knew where to be, and at what time they were needed in apprehending the suspect at the victim’s house.

Nitpick: When they are shown the matchbox with the club’s name on it, Shawn wonders how Herb got into “The Dollhouse” when they themselves are never able to. In the next frame, you see Shawn and Gus walking into the club without any problems. Since they don’t have police credentials, how did they get in?

Shawn: Would you take the bifocals off, Tom Landry?.

Tom Landry (1924–2000) was a former National Football League player and Hall of Fame coach. He is best known for being the first coach of the Dallas Cowboys, who he coached for 29 seasons (1960 to 1988). He lead the Cowboys to five Super Bowls, winning two.

Gus: (to Boone) Ring the bell, ding ding. At the end of the movie Rocky III (1982), Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) says “Ring the bell.” to Apollo Creed (also Carl Weathers) who replies “Ding ding.”
